THE GREAT DEMOCRATIZATION OF GRAPHIC DESIGN, CANVA

Did you know Stylebeat has a shop filled with oh-so-stylish finds? Check out the embellished image I created with Canva.

I follow technology and especially technology in design. I don't tend to write about it here as much as I'd like, but there have been a few really great entrants in the space that make design, and life, so much easier. More on that coming soon.

Recently, I read a fantastic book by tech entrepreneur Guy Kawasaki that came highly recommended by a trusted innovator in the tech space. After I finished the book, I was eager to learn more about Kawasaki, and discovered his latest passion, Canva. Making photoshop-like tools and graphic design easy and usable for all, Canva democratizes graphic design and photo editing by offering easy ways to alter images and text with a few taps. The idea was launched in Australia in 2012 by Melanie Perkins and  in 2014, Guy Kawasaki joined as Chief Evangelist (the same role he held early on for Apple).  They have raised over $30 million to build out a tech tool that is perfect for the age of social media where Instagram posts and small businesses alike need to be rolled out in a polished way.  Being creative, I though this one was worth sharing, since I think it is going to be a game changer. Truly. From an amazing array of fonts to graphic overlays, you can design it on this platform. Now, go forth and make it pretty. It's never been easier.
